POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training Specialist is responsible for enabling NWMLS members, subscribers and staff members with the knowledge and skills to become proficient users of NWMLS products and applications. The Training Specialist will be responsible for tasks such as facilitating in-person and online classes, workshops and webinars, and collaborating with team members to ensure NWMLS training strategies are meeting the overall needs of the organization.

This is a Full-Time position.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach NWMLS developed and approved classes and workshops in the Seattle Metro area and in other member counties throughout Washington State
  • Identify and assist with the development of training materials, classes, workshops and other opportunities for NWMLS to enhance membership and staff training 
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and promote the NWMLS member brand conveying values such as accuracy, honesty and integrity during training
  • Verify and input system access privileges, class attendance, and approve clock hours for class attendees using NWMLS's membership system
  • Stay informed of changes/enhancements to products and applications and update class presentations prior to the release of the new features
  • Work collaboratively with the training and communication teams to ensure NWMLS training is consistent and professionally delivered
  • Attend monthly training meeting and other inter-departmental meetings as necessary
  • Setup and troubleshoot laptop computers and portable classroom equipment
  • Create content and efficiently facilitate online classes and webinars 
  • Provide customized training/presentations for member firms, committees or groups as needed
  • Attend and present at tradeshows and special events as needed
  • Assist with internal staff training as needed
  • Assist with reporting, troubleshooting, testing, & evaluating "bugs" and enhancements
  • Participate in the Training Escalation phone queue and training related emails from members
  • As scheduled, provide one-on-one assistance to members during in-person/remote Q&A
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a four year degree and teaching certificate or other extensive classroom experience
  • Must have a warm, caring, helpful attitude and be committed to exceptional customer service
  • Must be detailed-oriented with exceptional presentation and organizational skills
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to adapt and multi-task in a dynamic and changing environment 
  • Must be a team player, willing to jump in to ensure tasks are completed within company deadlines
  • Must be a motivated self-starter
  • Experience using online training software, such as Camtasia, is a plus
  • Experience using virtual meeting/webinar software, such as GoToWebinar, is a plus
  • Real estate experience is a plus

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable transportation (including in inclement weather)
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time
  • Ability to sit and/or stand throughout an 8-hour workday
  • Ability to carry and set up laptop computers to remote classrooms 
  • Ability to work overtime, including overnight travel and a minimum of one Saturday per month.  
  • Please note that a real estate or appraisal license constitutes a conflict of interest with employment at NWMLS. Any license must be relinquished by the end of the probationary period.
