Job Title: Compliance Specialist


Northwest Multiple Listing Service is a not-for-profit, member owned organization, and is the largest full-service MLS in the Northwest. The Compliance Specialist is an elemental part of NWMLS' ability to provide service and support to existing and potential broker members and subscribers. A Compliance Specialist must be positive-minded, accurate, and detailed in providing customer service. The primary function of a Compliance Specialist is to ensure that all listings comply with NWMLS Rules and Regulations. The person in this position reports to the Rules and Regulations Supervisor. 

*This is a Full-Time position. 


  • Respond to member/subscriber inquiries via phone, email, or fax with informed care and consideration regarding a multitude of issues including but not limited to rules, rule violations, listing input, and membership requirements
  • Communicate, inform, and maintain personal rapport with members/subscribers
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding violations
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in the real estate industry and general real estate law
  • Support the Front Desk and Satellite Offices as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive interpersonal and diplomatic ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Includes communication over the telephone.
  • Good listening skills to assess employee and member/subscriber needs.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Competent using Microsoft Windows and navigating through multiple systems to input and retrieve information.
  • Able to type 45 or more words per minute.
  • Able to work autonomously or within a team atmosphere.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Able to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Warm, friendly, helpful, caring attitude and demeanor.
